There are only a couple of days remaining before 2011 says goodbye and 2012 comes in with all its surprises. Now we all know that it isn’t the end of the world yet like the movie says it is, but they say we should live each day like it was our last, don’t they?
Here are some fun things to do to seize the day (or the year, rather) before it slips on by:
- Unless you’re a clean freak, don’t tidy up the house. You’ll waste lots of precious time.
- Buy all of your favorite food, upsized.
- Buy all the movies you’d like to watch, on BluRay or 3D.
- Have a movie marathon while snacking on the things you bought in #2.
- Plant a seed and watch it grow. Works better if the plant grows into (or bears) something you can eat.
- Buy a pet and give it an extremely unique name. Make sure it breeds well and gives birth to really cute baby pets.
- Learn to play a musical instrument and play it on New Year’s Eve.
- Find a new singer/songwriter that’s totally underrated and make them your favorite.
- Change your preference in music and make sure it’s really different from the one you’re accustomed to. And then learn to really love the new genre you’ve randomly chosen.
- Buy a new phone that screams your personality.
- Grab a really thick novel and read it to the end.
- Write a book and self-publish it to make sure it won’t get rejected and your voice gets heard.
- Party all night without drinking an ounce of alcohol.
- Have a sleepover with friends you haven’t been in touch with for a loooong time and see how it goes.
- Send a random message saying ‘Hi’ to people you’ve stopped speaking to in the past year and see what happens.
- Beat a world record. Any world record.
- Spend an entire day in the attic and go through all of the stuff you’ve put in there to gather dust.
- Start a collection.
- Fall in love. Then jump back up.
- Be overly cynical one day, then extremely optimistic the next.
- Have an entire day to yourself and do absolutely anything you want. Or just lie awake and do nothing.
- Count the stars until you fall asleep.
- Just for the fun of it, roast marshmallows in your front yard.
- Join a band if you’ve mastered the instrument in #7, perform in front of an entire group of strangers, and get paid for it.
- Go on a spiritual retreat.
- Go on a spontaneous trip with absolutely no travel or accommodation plans at all.
- Buy presents for everyone on New Year and start a new trend.
- Try a new hairstyle.
- Change your entire wardrobe and try a new look.
- Unless you’re a slob, tidy up the house. You’ll feel something’s off at the end of the day if you don’t.
Have fun!
